I scored 13/20, but it was tricky with only a few gimmes like Bobby Womack and The Ronettes.

I’ve forgotten to mention Martin Phillipps’ recent passing. He led The Chills, one of New Zealand’s best-loved acts and the jangliest band from the Flying Nun stable.

18/20 – Never heard of any of those female solo artists, so gave it my best guess and was wrong on two, including Sandi Thom.

Yup, a few obscure females (at least to my 45-year-old NZ ears) like Amy Macdonald.
