1. 29/30. OMG. The one I missed I should have recognized because at some point – I won’t say which one – their names are in the song!

   • I know which one you’re talking about. Oops. A couple I missed I was very surprised I didn’t know them.

     • Pisses me off too. I like that song and I’m always saying that bit for fun.

   • I assume that’s one of the ones I missed, because I can’t think of what song it is.

     • Ballroom Blitz.

       • Yup, don’t really know that one and it’s one I missed. Had to rack my brains for another English glam band too, even though you featured them recently.

         • Oh, it’s always been popular here. I ‘m always saying “Are you ready Mick, Andy, Steve?” And yet, I blew it.

         • And Fox on the Run Is one of the greatest records of all time. Do you know anybody who doesn’t love it? Also Little Willy is great too. Weren’t Sweet some of those records produced by Mike Chapman and that other guy? They produced a lot of that glammy stuff like Suzi Quattro and stuff like that. And later of course he did Blondie’s albums. I think he’s really cool.

         • Yeah, those are good tunes. I didn’t know Chapman’s name which is odd because usually I’m familiar with producers. But yeah, he’s the guy

2. 16/30 with 5:23 left. one I thought I guessed right they said was wrong, but when I hit “give up” the answer I gave was in there.

   • Weird – I’m glad you played (and got a passing mark) anyway.

     • I must have put a wrong word in (GFRR was the one) there the first time… Thank you, yes, Each week spurs me to want to learn more so I do better on the quizzes 😉

       • I missed GFR – I don’t really know anything about them except that Homer Simpson is into them.

         • “We’re An American Band” was their big hit. Maybe their only hit.

         • They had a shitload besides American Band. Closer to Home, I’m Your Captain, Some Kind of Wonderful, Bad Time, Walk like a Man, Locomotion.

         • Oh right! Major oops on my part. Yes, now that you bring those up, they are all familiar. My bad.

         • Yeah Those are the kinds of songs that you only remember if somebody jogs your memory. ha ha. Except for Closer to Home, which everybody should know by heart.

         • I forgot that I do know their version of Locomotion, after you included in in that Carole King article.

   05:27 I stalled on how to spell a certain southern rock band…no matter how many posts I write on them it takes me a while to spell that name.

   • That one burned me for a little bit too. Still, pretty good time i think.

   • Wow! Perfect score. Every set of vowels is replaced by a “y” – once you know that it’s easy to spell.

     • Ok…thanks…never thought of it that way! I just wrote a post about them coming up and still struggled.

       • I think years of Sporcling has taught me. Still struggle with John Cougar M though.

4. I gave up after getting only 21/30. I know practically nothing about 70s hard rock & heavy metal bands, as I hated most of that kind of music back then. with the exception of Led Zeppelin. I was a gay boy who loved disco, pop & R&B.

   • Eclectic, that’s funny. I hated everything you loved and vice-versa. Now I kinda don’t even really give a shit. Who feels like waging a 40-year old battle? 😂

     • I had this workmate a few years ago who still went on about how punk was great and prog sucked.

       • Yeah, get over it.

   • 21 isn’t that bad – good effort!

5. 29/30. I couldn’t get the one that started with Steve Priest and I couldn’t think of any more guesses so I just quit. I was just entering any old thing I could think of then I just ran out of guesses

7. That was way too easy for someone like me who was born in ’66 and knows ’70s rock bands really well. 30/30 with 6:40 left on the clock. If my keyboard didn’t keep malfunctioning & adding letters that I didn’t type, I probably would have finished this in under a minute.
