Music Quiz: Four Decades of Music Hits IV

Last week’s quiz featured the closest fought competition I’ve ever seen on this blog. There were a healthy number of 100% scores, and the top three all had very close times.

If my maths is correct, Heavy Metal Overlord and Bruce Vinyl both completed the challenge in 53 seconds, while Geoff 1001 was nipping at their heels with a time of 54 seconds.

This week’s challenge requires sorting music hits from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s into the correct decade. I found that it gets a little tricky when the hit is on the cusp of two decades.

I scored 23/24 – can you beat me and attain the perfect score?

  1. Not too good. 19/24. The note said, “You’re all about the average, aren’t you?” Hey, at least I’m not all about mediocre.

  2. I’ve had a LOT of coffee today and this was a quickfire belter: 24/24 with 03:19 still to go. I slipped a moment or two on the AC/DC one and got lucky with my guess (all their songs are essentially the same anyway, right?)

    • Understandable, as that album came out after her death – there’s a song on Pearl that’s still an instrumental as she was due to record her vocal the next day.
