Paul Simon Still Crazy After All These Years

Music Quiz: Hits by Pauls

Tony managed a very strong 49/50 in last week’s tough rock sub-genres quiz, an excellent effort.

This week’s quiz is shorter, but I found it challenging. You need to identify hits by seven artists named Paul.

I scored 24/28 – I was fine with Mr Simon, Mr McCartney, and Mr Mauriat, but struggled with Mr Anka and Mr Davis. In particular, I had no idea who Paul Davis was, let alone identify his hits…

Can you beat my score?

In other news, I learned this week that I am one degree of musical separation away from Deane Waretini, who scored this #1 hit in 1981.

  1. 23/28 but I don’t know why cuz I know I didn’t get any Paul Simon or Paul McCartney or Peter Paul and Mary wrong but it said I did. I think I got them all right except for Paul Young. Even Paul Davis I knew.

  2. Odd. I got 23/28 too. I have no idea who Paul Davis is and I know exactly one Paul Young song. I thought I would know more of Paul Anka’s but, alas.

    • Not much variation in scores so far. I’m not sure that a lack of knowledge about Paul “Puppy Love/You’re Having My Baby” Anka is a bad thing?

      • I think Puppy Love is alright for that type of music. And also Put Your Head on My Shoulder is a pretty decent song. And My Way is good for that Las Vegas type of music. Or if you’re Sid Vicious. Or Elvis Presley. or Nina Hagen. I like all those versions,

  3. I wasn’t fast but I got SCORE
    28/28
