The Replacements Let It Be

Music Quiz: Find the Band Member II

Congratulations to Pierce from https://thepressmusicreviews.wordpress.com/ who snuck in a second faster than Tony to win last week’s challenge in a blistering minute.

This week, unsurprisingly, it’s Find the Band Members Part 2. I think they’re getting easier as we work backwards.

I got them all correct with 2:32 remaining. There were a few people having issues with Sporcle last week. If it keeps happening I’m happy to consider a different platform at some point (Jet Punk has been suggested), although I’d like to finish this series first.

Speaking of happy, please enjoy this recently unearthed Stones’ footage from 1973.

The Stones footage…that sound has been missing since Mick Taylor left.

  2. 24/24 with 2:01. How is it possible people are beating my (I thought) fast time by almost two minutes? You can’t even scan the page that fast .

    • Yup, I’ve been consistently around the 2:30 mark in the last few, and have been getting smashed. I’ve never been good at facial recognition though – it’s a running joke with my wife about how I’m terrible at it.

        • There might be some technique like looking through them all first that works. I normally just pick off the easy ones first, but I’m obviously not very fast.

  3. I suck at Sporcle games so I’m not gonna try, but I sure as heck can watch a clip of unearthed Stones footage! 🙂

It’s crazy that here we are, nearly 50 years later, and the Stones are still playing these songs – baby, that’s keeps me happy!

    • It’s a shame there’s no Charlie though – I guess the crucial axis of the band – Jagger/Richards – is still there.

  4. 22/24. Can you even believe that I got Pink Floyd wrong? The other one I got wrong was Black Eyed Peas. I ignored my first instinct and picked someone else. If you’re not sure, I think the best thing is to go with your first instinct. So I’m not surprised that I got that one wrong. But Pink Floyd I got wrong??? Can you believe that?

    • I normally go through and pick out the easy ones first. I thought Mr Waters was pretty distinctive looking. I’d find Gilmour or Barrett harder I think.
