1. 29/40. There were a few that threw me. A couple I had no idea.

2. Didn’t do the quiz, but holy capo Batman. Loved the clip of John Martyn, one of my faves. The man could play, no doubt about that. Thanks!

   • Never really gets mentioned as a great guitarist, and Richard Thompson is my favourite from that late 1960s British folk scene, but Martyn is still an amazing player.

3. 31/40… passing grade so I’ll take it. Thanks as always for setting this up.

   • Currently winning (although it’s been quiet so far).

   29/40 ….the only reason I got some right was dumb luck and UK #1’s site and he just went over some of these….or at least the time span they were out.

   • Good work – yeah, I think UK #1s is up to about 2000 now – he just did U2’s ‘Beautiful Day’.

     • He is…and I just caught up with him…that is the reason I guessed as many as I did.

   • Did you see John Martyn sliding his capo in that video? Kind of crazy.

     • Yes…I would love to know what capo he is using. When I use them they are tight…if not the strings are dead. I need to check out what he uses. I’ve never had an expensive one….that is probably the problem.
       I like how in one part it’s pretty much an electric guitar mixed with acoustic and he keeps the rhythm with his hand.

5. 35/40 – I hated a lot of hip hop and rap from that decade, so those songs are mostly a blur for me

   • You did really well anyway.

6. Late to it this week – 35/40! The ones I didn’t get must have only been hits in the US…

   • Good job! Living in New Zealand is helpful as we get the cross section.
