Music Quiz: British or American Bands

Most contestants performed impressively in last week’s synonyms and antonyms quiz. The fastest time came from keepsmealive’s James Kalyn, who solved it in less than minute.

This week your challenge is to guess whether the listed bands are from the US or the UK.

From my perspective, I thought there were a bunch of easy ones but also a handful that were tough. I was wrong about Whitesnake and scored 29/30.

Can you beat me and score the perfect 30/30?

  1. Looks like I’m the first one to respond this week, and the first with a perfect score of 30/30, with 3:37 left on the clock. I don’t expect that to be the fastest time, but I know I couldn’t have done it any more quickly. Aren’t you on vacation this week? If so, I hope you’re having a great time.

    • Great work. I actually started working full-time last week – I’ve been part time and primary caregiver for almost five years. I thought it might make this website tricky but it seems ok – I get to do some writing on the train, like I’m doing right now

    • Great work. The only Maiden post on my site, about ‘Total Eclipse’ gets a few hits from time to time. I keep meaning to do more, although I tend to listen to a lot of music when I’m working and gravitate towards more mellow stuff then.

03:02 I only guessed on two… M**e and was right. I definitely lean more British. But the only reason I got the Whitesnake right was because of what you said…I went against my instinct. I was surprised.

    • 3:02 remaining? I was surprised to learn Whitesnake was UK – I think of them as hair metal, which seems like a US phenomenon.

      • My first thought was that but then I remembered he was the lead singer of Deep Purple…that is the main reason I switched.
Yes I think…I just copy and paste what is on.

  3. What makes it even more confusing is that besides Whitesnake there were also two more metal bands named after animals called White Lion and Great White. And I know that each of them had a hit but I never did know who did which one.
