Music Quiz: Album of the Year Winners (1980s)

Welcome back for another week of quizzing.

Can you identify the 10 album-of-the-year Grammy winners from the 1980s? I was originally going to feature the 1970s, but it was a bit easy since Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon won half of them.

I scored 10/10 with 4:31 remaining – can you beat my time?

Congratulations to EclecticMusicLover, who recorded the fastest time in last week’s challenge.

  1. 10/10, 3:45 remaining.

Two thoughts after playing this quiz:
    – I did not realize that Toto won an album of the year, the only way I got that was I just assumed an anonymous group of middle-aged white guys winning the Grammy in 1983 was probably them.
-That look on Phil Collins’s face, clutching all the Grammys, probably triggered the backlash.

    • Good work! That 1983 choice was ridiculed for a long time, but they probably have more cachet than their cooler contemporaries at this point – everyone knows Africa.

  2. 10/10 with 4:15 left. Got lucky as I watched a documentary on the 1980 winner recently or I would have scored a 9. This was fun. Thanks as always…
