Music Quiz: Greatest Hits XXXVIII

Welcome to the future (if you’re reading this in the Americas). It’s already 29 August here, and it’s time for some quizzing.

We’re up to #37 in this long-running series.

This week you need to tell the difference between the Penguins, the Seals, and the Crofts. Are you up for the challenge.

I scored 16/20. I forgot that Scandal weren’t a male hair metal band. I thought it was a little on the obscure side. But there were enough obvious genres and genders to make it feasible.

Congratulations to Tony, who swooped in a few days after most contestants and scored 19. Before that, there was a three-way tie at 17.

Here’s smooth soul singer Howard Tate with a cover of The Band‘s ‘Jemima Surrender’.

  1. I got off to a great start in this week’s quiz with 15 in a row. One or two bad guesses later and I finished with 18/20. Not sure who that “Scandal” is but it’s not the US band of the same name featuring Patty Smyth, aka Mrs. John McEnroe.

By the way, your first sentence indicates that you are WAY in the future, as you’re already at the end of September. That’s some impressive time traveling. 😀

  2. Score
17/20 I knew Scandal very welll because of “Goodbye To You” video being played on MTV endlessly but I didn’t mind at all.
