Music Quiz: Hide Your F Albums

Welcome back – this week we’re looking at F albums. It’s a popular letter, so this quiz was easier than last week’s, at least for me.

I scored 24/24. I used genre conventions to differentiate between the three albums I didn’t know – En Vogue, Anthrax, and Blue Oyster Cult.

Can you get all 24? Congratulations to Tony, who scored 23/24 in last week’s quiz.

I’m sure you’re anxious for a hiking update. Here’s a (bad) photo of some whio (blue ducks). They’re rare, so seeing some in the wild was exciting. They’re genetically unique, with little relation to other duck species.

The male’s call is a high-pitched whistle, while the female’s call is a rattling growl. Like most New Zealand species, they’re vulnerable to mammalian predation. Before humans arrived in New Zealand, bringing other mammals with them, our only land mammals were bats.

  1. 16/24. Blue duck sounds label for white wine. Did you cross the water on those stones? Are you saying the Alps continues onto New Zealand? I learn something new every day.

    • It does sound like a wine label. We had to cross the river (sometimes wading up to our knees) a few times, but not there.

We have a mountain range right down the middle of the South Island named the Southern Alps. Not connected to the European ones.

    • Looks like 1970s hard rock is your Achilles Heel! I’ve never heard that Rush album, but the cover is memorably weird.

  2. I missed a couple of these quizzes, and couldn’t leave a comment on another one, but I’ve returned with a vengeance: 24/24 with
5:32 left on the clock. Happy New Year!

    • Thank yoy1 I think we’re over the technical issues we’ve been having – it was a bit annoying there for a while.
