Music Quiz: Decade by Three Album Releases

Congratulations to Tony, who narrowly edged Sheik Yerbouti for bragging rights in last week’s Shopping List quiz.

This week’s quiz has amazing breadth, covering more than a century of recorded music. You need to link the three albums to the correct decade.

I scored 11/12 – I was mixed up between the 1930s and 1940s.

In other news, I’ve been hoping we hold out from Covid for a few more days until my sister gets married on Saturday. Omicron has been pretty rampant in NZ, but we’ve escaped so far. I’ve also been enjoying this record from Carole King’s short-lived 1960s band The City – it also featured Danny Kortchmar, who’s pretty well-known as a guitarist and producer with artists like James Taylor and Jackson Browne. This song was also covered by The Byrds in 1968.

    TIMER
01:45 The 1910s was not my strongest decade…the 1920’s to the 1990’s I’m ok. I like the Carole King version of that…really cool.

    • I got the 1930s and 1940s mixed up. That City album has maybe a tiny more rock edge than her 1970s stuff.
