17/24. I knew every one of those songs but alas, was often off by a decade. Jolene surprised me. The site decided to go smart ass on me and said, “Of all the scores you could have gotten, that was one of them.” No argument there.
It’s hard to refute Sporcle’s point…. I think most of Parton’s big songs are from the 1970s?
Beats the hell out of me. My knowledge of country music is slightly above nil.

20 and I can’t believe I got Metallica wrong, shoot me.
I assumed it was from the self titled record but it was much earlier.
I made the same assumption. It’s off the 1984 Ride the Lightning album.

A couple close calls with guessing on a few of the ’60s/’70s but it worked out in the end!

20/24 – the artists I got wrong were Tina Turner, Dusty Springfield, 4 Non Blondes and Santeria.
Santeria is the song by the way. Sublime is the band. I like how you almost got one wrong from each decade.

Santeria is the song, Sublime is the band by the way. Guessing 1990s if you don’t know it is probably a good strategy.
23/24 and I missed the same one you did. Ironically, I wrote a 4-part series on the Metallica discography in 2013, so I should hang my head in shame for missing a perfect score.
