Music Quiz: Greatest Hits XL

We’re up to greatest hits quiz 40. According to my maths, we had a five-way tie for first at 14/20 last week – congratulations to all the winners.

It’s another tricky one this week. The 1960s male bands (as well as The La’s, who look like a 1960s male band) are hard to tell apart.

I scored 10 – right on the Sporcle average. I had trouble with the time and had to rush at the end.

I’m not entirely sure why Television need a greatest hits. They only have three studio albums, and surely Marquee Moon is stronger than a greatest hits anyway…

Here’s Mr MJ Lenderman with ‘She’s Leaving You’. I get Neil Young vibes with the nonchalant, awkward stage presence.

  1. Based on the name of this quiz, I assumed it was Extra Large (XL), but nope…just another challenging collection of compilations. I got the first 10 easily and then stumbled to 14/20.

    • They could have had 25 questions! A missed opportunity. I only found a couple of easy ones like Captain and Tennille.
