Congratulations to Jamie, who scored the fastest time with a perfect score in last week’s Name Any Song quiz.
In this week’s quiz you need to link the musical term with a song title. Each answer is used exactly twice – so you can skip questions and use the process of elimination, even if it doesn’t appear that way at first.

I scored 29/30, largely because I didn’t use the skip function (but I told you all about it…). Can you beat me and score 30?
Incredibly obscure bonus question – what do these five albums have in common?
- Dressed to Kill – KISS
- Door to Door – The Cars
- Weezer (Blue Album) – Weezer
- Voodoo – D’Angelo
- New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) – Erykah Badu

Not that good, only 25 out of 30. I do know the bonus…I think…all recorded at Electric Lady Studios
Wow – I’m amazed anyone got the bonus question. I didn’t know they were commissioned by Hendrix, even though it’s obviously from the name!
Electric Lady Studios has a rich history. I wonder if there is a book on it, I’d love to read some stories about all that has gone on there.
Just because something was recorded at Electric Ladyland that doesn’t necessarily mean they were “commissioned” by him, does it?
I worded my sentence badly, I meant the studio was commissioned for him. A couple of those artists were born after Hendrix died.
Right.
30/30. 2.32 minutes left. That was a easy one. I only had to guess at about 2 or 3 of them that I saved till the end.
Great work!
Thanks for the tip about the skip ahead function. I got 30/30 with 3:36 left. I’m stumped about the connection between those five albums, although there’s an obvious connection between The Cars and that first Weezer album.
Great work! That connection is correct, but I’m looking for something else.
I got 16/30 with 1:47 left. Quite an improvement from the last quiz!
Yup, great job!
Thank you and thanks for the quiz!
30/30, 3:50. Somehow I knew ’em all and the skip-ahead helped. I suspect I’ll be beat. As to the connection in the other question, clueless.
That’s a fast time – it might stand up.
Woohoo!
How about that? Beaten by one second.
Rough business.
Especially when you can hold back to see what everybody else posts first.
If there was a repeated pattern I’d be suspicious but I don’t think that’s the case here. You won a few weeks in a row recently and noone gazumped you like that.l
Sure
30/30 with 3:51 left.
Whenever it’s songs (as opposed to albums) you dominate.
True. Until more recently, I was just not much of an album guy – though I certainly bought my share of them in the 70s & 80s.
26/30. A lot of guessing going on.
Good guessing obviously….
26/30 with 1:16 left
no clue on the bonus question
I was amazed anyone got it.
A strong performance.
Thank you! I was surprised 🙂
SCORE
29/30
I didn’t know the Nicki Minaj song…I guessed wrong.
Your bonus I have no clue on that one.
29 is a good score anyway – I don’t know that Nicki Minaj song.
That makes me feel better!
Stunk that up with a 25 but I do know that the albums mentioned – along with the likes of Combat Rock and parts of Houses of the Holy – were cut at Electric Lady studios. Though Electric Ladyland wasn’t
Good work on the bonus question!
25 – probably about 20 known, and 5/10 on guesses, so I’ll take it!
Perhaps something about Garages as the common link?
Good work! John got the bonus question with the first guess – all recorded at Electric Lady Studios.
