Run DMC Tougher Than Leather

Site Updates: 500 Ratings and a New Domain

Aphoristic Album Reviews has had a couple of significant milestones this week.

500 Ratings

I’ve been keeping a record of this site’s album ratings, and I just hit 500 ratings this week. This is a graph of all the album ratings on the site so far; it’s starting to form a nice bell-curve. I’d like to think that if I reviewed every album ever, it would form a bell-curve centering on 5, but because it’s my site and I mostly only review music that I like, the average is more like 7.5.

If you’re curious, the two 3s awarded on the site have been to Liz Phair’s 2003 self titled album, and Billy Joel’s tentative debut album Cold Spring Harbour. The 500th album to be rated was Run D.M.C.’s 1988 album Tougher Than Leather.

A New Domain

This week I’ve registered for a more official looking domain – this site can now be located at https://albumreviews.blog. After having the blog more or less secret for a few months, I’ve now opened it up to search engines again.
