Music Quiz: Greatest Hits XLVI

We’re up to quiz 46 in our greatest hits sequence – congratulations for sticking it out so long.

This week’s seemed the easiest for a while – I could guess based on genre conventions.

I scored 15/20 but probably should have got a couple more.

Congratulations to Rich Kamerman, who scored 19/20 is last week’s quiz.

In bad news this week, power pop hero Matthew Sweet suffered a debilitating stroke while touring in Canada. You can support his GoFundMe here:

Here’s his Phil Spector-style classic ‘If Time Permits’.

  1. Score
15/20 I knew more than I thought. Many of them I remembered from years ago in other peoples record collection like… LRB.
I didn’t know that about Matthew Sweet…that is terrible.

    • Good score. It sounds like Sweet’s fundraising has been going well – famous friends like some of the R.E.M. guys have been chipping in.

  2. Late entry here as I was out of town for a few days, but that obviously cleared my mind as I scored 20/20 with 1:25 left on the clock…thanks to a good guess at the end between Dollar and Sugarland. The rest was pretty easy. Very sad news about Matthew Sweet. I hope he has a full recovery and gets back to 100% (Fun) – sorry, I couldn’t resist the reference to my favorite Matthew Sweet album.
