Music Quiz: 1980s Music Videos

Congratulations to everyone who scored 100% last week – Rich, Chris, J, Geoff, 2loud2old, and Tony.

This week’s quiz requires you to identify the 1980s music video by the still.

I scored 21/25, which was actually below the Sporcle average for the quiz, so I’m sure lots of people will beat me. Especially those who were watching MTV at the time – I was more into Sesame Street and The Smurfs during the 1980s….

  1. 25/25 for me with just under 3:00 to go. Although I didn’t have cable TV at home in the early 80s (hence no MTV), I made up for lost time when I was in college (’84-’88) and saw the majority of classic videos from that era…many many times. Clearly they are indelibly stamped on my brain.

  2. 23/25. I recognized most of them, a few were too unrecognizable (You Gotta Fight) for me to get. Interestingly I just heard that song on the radio the other day. “Your mom busted in and said, “What’s that noise?”
Aw, Mom, you’re just jealous it’s the Beastie Boys.” Love it.

  3. 24/25. Higher than my usual score in these quizzes. Apparently the big 80s hits I know quite well. White Wedding was the one I got wrong. Couple of lucky guesses for Legs (is it the ZZ Top song?) and Hungry Like the Wolf.
