1. 28/36. I got zero of the Foo Fighters. I had time left and tried every word in the alphabet on the ones I didn’t get. But it was hopeless as I just didn’t know enough of them.

   • Colour and the Shape is a pretty well-known Foos album, but the other two are kind of obscure picks.

2. 21/36 and ran out of time. A couple were either lucky guesses or my mind knew the answers.

3. That was easy. I only had to guess at one of them and I got it right.

4. 34/36 – I couldn’t tell you the name of a single Aretha Franklin album and only got one right thanks to guessing something else.
   That really is sad news – Long Time Coming is a cracking song and they’d got quite a few just like it

   • Good score! I think Aretha is a pretty good album artist – Lady Soul is a very good one.

     • Oh no doubt about it but the likelihood of my knowing any of her album titles are as slim as it gets

   29/36 I could not tell you a Whitney Houston album or the rapper guy.

   • Did you listen to that Delays song in the post – it has enough jangle and harmony that you’d probably like it.

     • I just did…love it. Thanks Graham…I like their sound. The first song I picked was Long Time Coming and it sounds great…I’m off until Monday so I’m going back to them.

       You mentioned another band a month back…was it The Pinkees? I’ve started to listen to them a lot also. I had it bookmarked and I could figure out when or who pointed me toward them.

       • Yup, that was me with The Pinkees. Another blogger mentioned them, I’ve only heard that one song.

6. 33/36, and gave up with 1:22 left. Did not know one of the albums by Aretha, GNR or Jimi Hendrix.

   • Good score though!

     • Crazy thing is, the one of Aretha’s I missed is pictured in your header! What a dope I am!

       • I’d never heard of that album before I worked through her late 1960s and early 1970s stuff last year. It’s not one of her best, IMO, even though it’s between two of her best-known.

7. It’s weird that this is the first time I ever got them all right cuz I don’t even listen to all those people. And the one that I had to guess at was Foo Fighters Skin and……. But what the hell else would you guess besides Bones?? Lol

   • I missed that one! I obviously wasn’t thinking clearly at that point.

     • Yeah sometimes you can’t even come up with a guess. I didn’t even check to see how much time I had left. I should have looked.

     • The only other one that I thought I was gonna miss was Foreigner Agent Provocateur because provocateur is one of those words that you never know exactly how to spell. And I had to spend a lot of time trying to spell it right and I just tried everything, then suddenly I spelled it right

       • I tried Agent Orange….

8. 25/36. I was all over the map on this one, almost every artist had a hole or two. I only got full marks for Eminem, ELO, and Hendrix.

   • Yup, those were three where they pretty much picked the most canonical albums. Some of their other choices were pretty niche….

9. 23/36 and that’s it.

   • Solid score, tough week

10. Oh yeah and I love that first Delays album. Sad news about the lead singer.

    • Are the later records good?

      • Not quite as good as I recall. I believe they went less jangle pop and more electronic? I confess it has been a while…

11. 31/36 which is a pretty good score, but it’s a little embarrassing that two of the titles I missed were from Foo Fighters, whose catalog I covered in detail a few years ago. Hanging my head (slightly) in shame.

    • I think they picked tough Foo Fighters albums.

12. 33/36 – the last Eagles album and 2 of the Foreigners were the ones I didn’t get (I don’t know any Foreigners albums, I only guessed one because I was guessing another album).

    • Foreigner are pretty obscure nowadays I reckon, apart from one big hit. And their most famous album “4” doesn’t work for the quiz format.

13. Yeah, i got to about 15 and mind went completely blank. Too tired, mind isn’t working.

    • Hopefully your mind is working better next week.

14. 25 this week. Loads of gaps – Foos, Eagles, Aretha, Green Day, Foreigner, ELO…

    That’s really sad news about Greg Gilbert.

    • Good work though – those Foo records were tough, and Foreigner aren’t remembered much beyond their one huge hit.

15. 24 of 36. like others most of the groups I had a gap or two – got all of GNR, Eminem, Hendrix. A number I just guessed at what word made sense and got lucky

    • Those were the three where they chose canonical albums I reckon.

      • Yeah that made it a bit easier 😀

16. 33/36 with 2:21 to go, just guessing and gave up at that point.
