Welcome back for another week of quizzing.
Can you identify the albums starting with H? Unfortunately the person who made the original series stopped at G, so I had to make this one myself. Apologies if some of the choices are a little obscure.

I’m obviously ineligible to enter this week.
RIP to The Band’s Garth Hudson, a keyboard great who added something off-piste to his rootsy group.

75% for me this week
I like people getting 75% on the quiz I made, makes it seem like a good degree of difficulty.
14/24… lots of guessing going on at one point haha
Sorry! I threw in the Dio album as a gimme for you.
Thanks! I’ll take all the help I can get haha
17/24. tough quiz! I knew Surrender was Cheap Trick but didn’t recognize them in the pic/album cover
17 is a pretty good score. Good job. It is a confusing cover with only half the band on it.
Thanks, Graham. I shoulda known blondie though!
p.s. Good job on putting a challenging quiz together. Will you keep going with the rest of the letters?
I assume so, I might take the odd week off as it takes a while to make them.
May Garth be playing with the angels. I love his intros to Chest Fever.
He’d be good in the heaven band right? Good on the Church organ.
God I miss these guys. Before they left, we received … a wealth of recordings that comfort us.
Their 1960s and 1970s catalogue is kind of skimpy, even though the first two albums are great. Manuel stopped writing, then Robertson had writers block in the 1970s too. Then there was squabbling as well.
I consider their work with Zimmy part of their legacy as well. Planet Waves is one of my most favorite albums. Of course the basement tapes and big pink recordings also.
Fair enough, Basement Tapes is a pretty big chunk of their discography. Have you heard Before the Flood?
No I haven’t, Graham. I just went out and did a little digging on it, which led me to discogs, which led me to… soon! 🙂
Score
23/24 The one I missed I had no clue of…
In many bands you would replace someone not the lead singing and get the same kind of sound…The Band would not have sounded like the band with anyone else but Garth Brooks…same with the Who for Keith Moon. Hudson had a wall of swirling sound at times and I’ve never really heard it since.
I think you put the wrong Garth in your reply! I liked the stories of how they paid him to be their music teacher, as his parents didn’t like him being in a band.
OH goodness…I hate that guy like…SO much! Oh please either correct it or delete it.
Great quiz Graham! I got 21/24
Thanks for playing, good score!
19/24 : )
Good work!
21/24. Some good guesses as I didn’t know a lot of those.
I think the person who was making these quizzes originally was a bit more 2loud2old than I am…. But good effort.
15 on this one. I’ll take it!
