Noone scored 100% in last week’s Dead Before 30 quiz, but congratulations to everyone who scored 21. Both Avicii and Pigpen proved challenging.
This week, your challenge is to complete song titles with secondary colours.

I scored 14/15 – can you beat me?
I start working full time next week. At the moment my plan is to drop down to two posts per week and see how it goes.
Last week I neglected to reveal the answer to the previous week’s trivia question – the connection between David Crosby and Genesis. It’s mainly based on rumour, and never been officially confirmed, but it’s been reported that Phil Collins paid for David Crosby’s 1994 liver transplant. Crosby said in an interview that: “Phil Collins did help me enormously. I’m not going to get into the specifics about how; it’s nobody else’s business but mine and Phil’s, but he did help me tremendously, and he is a dear friend.” Crosby also provided backing vocals on Collin’s 1989 hit ‘Another Day in Paradise’.
For another CSN-related question, can you complete this Stephen Stills quote from 1976?
“I keep bass strings on my bass for two years at a time. Because I play bass so hard that I really thump it, when I get a new string, I buy some [XXXXX XXXXX] and sit and rub it in. This is because it’s got to get a little funky, rusty, and greasy in there so it will start to respond. And that’s something you can’t build on a machine.”

14/15 for me as I was stumped by Gogol Bordello. As for the Stephen Stills quote, I have no idea. Looking forward to finding out what he used.
I think almost everyone got stumped by Gogol Bordello.
Do you think they could squeeze more animated pop-up ads on that Sporcle site? It’s still useable. I’m sure they could whore out more. As the quiz, 14/15. Gogol Bordello? What is that? As to the Stills quote, I think it was something like chicken grease.
I have no idea about Gogol Bordello – I guess quiz makers put their own little pet favourites on there sometimes…
Close with the Stills guess.
I found them and listened to them. Not good.
14/15 for me as I was (also) stumped by Gogol Bordello.
2 of the ones I did get were wild guesses.
Yup, I think we all need to brush up on our Gogol Bordello.
13/15 but I only remember getting one wrong (the Gogol Bordello one) with ~2:30 left. My guess for Stills (using the exact number of letters that you have X’s) : Silly Putty?
Sorry – my XXXXs weren’t precise, but good guess.
I got all 15 with 2:08 to spare. I too had never heard of Gogol Bordello, but correctly chose ‘purple’.
First 15/15!
14/15 for me. not but the one I had to guess on I guess wrong. All the others I knew for sure.
I’m guessing you had problems with Gogol Bordello like almost everyone else?
If that is who it was and then yes!
15/15 with 1:43 left. Couple lucky guesses in there.
You got the Gogol!
I did! I’ve been known to enjoy some Gogol.
14/15
TIMER
01:48 I had to guess twice…and I was 50 percent right….Bordello is the one I got wrong
I have read that Stills used BBQ sauce…which is funny as hell.
Correct on the Stills!
Wow…I can’t imagine doing that. It seems like it would be sticky…my guess is he keeps it on there and then wipes it off but…that would defeat the whole purpose.
I assume it soaks in and he doesn’t just go around with sticky fingers all day?
The strings it seems would be sticky….I read some and he used it for the acid in the vinegar…. that makes sense.
15/15 with 2:18 on the timer. I tried soaking my strings in BB
Identical time & score with Tony! A fortunate guess on the Nat King Cole tune
Great work!
Q sauce but they’re still bloody tricky to swallow
Probably guitar strings would be more digestible.
