Tony dominated last week’s MTV Unplugged album quiz, scoring a perfect 24/24.
This week we’re looking at songs with the word “got” in the title.

I scored 30/32 – I was down to educated guessing about halfway through the quiz, so I was happy with that.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for vintage musicians passing away. Australia has been hit hard with Archie Roach, Olivia Newton-John, and Judith Durham all leaving us. I liked this anecdote about the recently departed Lamont Dozier, part of the famed Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting team.
And sometimes Mr. Dozier uttered a real-life sentence that worked in song, as he did one night when he was in a Detroit motel with a girlfriend and a different girlfriend started pounding on the door. He pleaded with the interloper, “Stop, in the name of love” — and then realized the potency of what he had said. The Holland-Dozier-Holland team quickly hammered the sentence into a three-minute single, the Supremes’ “Stop! In the Name of Love.”

Got ’em all with 4:25 left. Some educated guessing at the wire. Another Dozier story I heard on the news today was that I believe his grandmother was a shop owner or something. His grandfather was a flirty kinda guy who, when women came in, would say, “How you doin’ sugarpie” or “What’s up, honeybunch.” Which eventually led to “Can’t Help Myself.”
You’re the fastest so far. I guess the grandfather couldn’t help himself.
Someone will beat my time. BTW, you’re a better blogger than comedian.
I tried three times to respond to your current quiz. The first time from my phone and it never posted. The last two times on my laptop. Yes I’m logged into WP. I got a weird error the last two times (which I’ve never seen anywhere) that said, “Error. Please fill the required fields” and then a link to go Back. Huh?
Weird – I changed a setting, would you mind trying again.
If that doesn’t work I’ll contact Wordpress tech support.

Well, it looked better. It said ‘Posting,” refreshed the screen then disappeared. Truthfully I’ve found your site a little harder to navigate since the format change.
It worked, just sat in pending first.
Odd
I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened to others. You usually have more comments by now.
For the record I show up as anonymous. But I was logged into WP.
Weird, I’ll see if it keeps happening. Thanks for reporting.
Guess what? It happened again today. I got the error on Chrome and then tried on Edge. No luck. The specific error (in both cases) says “Error: Please fill the required fields.” There is also a ‘Back’ button. Click once, does nothing. Click twice, brings you back to the comment section but your comment is gone.
Thanks for reporting – it looks like it’s a known Wordpress issue – there’s a thread about it here which I’ve added to:

Hopefully they fix it soon.
Wow, how about that.
Do you mind trying now? It’s apparently fixed.
And no I don’t know why it works for Rich but not for me.
Best I could do was 29/32. Half were guesses anyway.
Sounds like mine but I was a teeny bit luckier.
32/32 with 4:21 left. That was a fun one.
Perfect score and glad you enjoyed.
30/32 This may have been the easiest one so far for me.
Great work!
Thanks!
32/32 time 4:15 left. Actually did better than I thought
All the DJing obviously paid off…
There were a couple I wondered about…lol
28/32. Not too hot.
Pretty good! I notice it’s mainly the older posters excelling this week – I assume you’re older than me but younger than some of the 32/32s?
I’m old, but I guess not that old!! LOL!
Not 2old?
Ha!!! good one!
I think I’ve overusing that joke….
It never gets 2Old.
I got 29/32 with 1:29 left. I am proud of that lol. Thanks for the quiz!
Great work – you almost beat me.
Almost, but not quite. I had fun either way. Thanks for the quiz!
