Congratulations to Rich “Taxman” Kamerman, who squeaked out the fastest time in last weeks 1960s quiz. There were lots of contestants who were very close on his tail.
With apologies to younger readers, we’re staying in the 1960s for another week. This week you need to link the opening lines of the songs from the 1968 album The Beatles with their song titles.

I scored full marks with 1:58 remaining, although it did involve a handful of educated guesses at the end!

30/30. 3:10 left. No guesses. I know that album backwards and forwards.
Ooh, looks like there’s a tie for first at the moment.
The quiz I was born to play!
Not as fast as Jim S. – but 30/30, with 2:28 remaining.
The Revolution 9 lyrics are terrific!

03:10 Oh yea…that was fun. No guessing on this one.
Ooh, tied for first.
That is cool! Hey I’ll be more than happy with a tie…
Got 30/30 w/ 2:51 left – my favourite Beatles album so I should know it inside and out.
I think it’s my fifth favourite, but I still managed to squeak out 100%.
I had to quit because it started acting up and then it just froze up completely. Too bad because I was doing good until it fucked up on me. That really pisses me off.
You’re welcome to try again in those circumstances. Were you on mobile?
No, I was on laptop. It usually doesn’t fuck up on laptop, but it did today. I might try it again though later and see if it works
Showing my abysmal knowledge of the Beatles, i got 15 – please don’t ban me, lol. I appreciate how great a band they are, and love alot of their songs, but am not on the level of knowledge of them as most other are on here. Now if you ever did this with a Springsteen album then we’d be talking. 🙂
I feel like I’d score like 5 on The River (double album for comparison) – never really got into it as much as most of Springsteen’s other 1970s and 1980s records.
It is a bit up and down. Some classics but also some throw seats (or perhaps I should say some less than classics)
Wow. Lots of people know their White album. Only 17/30 for me. I do love the album but perhaps I need to listen closer to the lyrics.
Yup, I get worried about specific artist/album quizzes excluding some participants, but I assumed lots of people would go for this one.
26/30 Got one wrong that I should have known, one I just didn’t know and I got my honey pies mixed up. Easily done when they are both such drivel.
Not into Paul’s Granny Music?
Yeah, Beatles aren’t my strength. I got 18 and a few of those were guesses. When I need a quick Beatles fix I don’t tend to reach for their 90+ minute album that often.
I haven’t listened to the whole thing for years. It does help that you can generally tell a Lennon opening line from a McCartney one.
No, definitely not, it is the worst thing about the Beatles.
Incidentally, on the Sporcle site there are many others like this quiz, including a Springsteen one and a Clash one plus Dylan and more Beatles.
Yup I was thinking about Clash for sometime, although it’s more niche than The Beatles.
One of Paul’s dopier songs I suppose. Check THIS out. Of all the songs these two icons could do together

Neil Young has a huge dopey grin – he obviously thinks it’s funny.
And dopey.
A woeful 25/30 this week. I’ll blame the fact that I just returned from a week’s vacation in the Galapagos Islands yesterday, and took this quiz with the TV on. Had fun nonetheless.
Ooh, I’ve been to the Galapagos. About fifteen years ago and just a couple of nights on the main island.
It’s an amazing place to visit. We did a 6-day catamaran guided tour with lots of hiking, sightseeing & snorkeling.
I’ve never listened to the entire White Album, so am not familiar with several of its tracks. Let’s just say my score was abysmal.
I’m not a White Album cultist – it’s my fifth favourite Beatles album at best. But it’s worth a listen sometime – it’s a bit like a bunch of solo albums stuck together as the cracks were starting to appear at that point.
Yeah I didn’t even try this one. I might have gotten a couple, but I don’t really know the album as well as our saturated culture says I ought to 😉
