Congratulations to everyone who tried out last week’s Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers quiz. Good job to Tony, Max, and the Punk Panther, who all scored 100%, and condolences to Rich who was foiled by a dastardly popup.
This week you need to complete the song titles with the word “away” in them.

I scored 17/20 – I probably should have picked up another point if I hadn’t panicked at the end.

20.20, 1:27 left. I like those because if you leave a few for the end, then it’s easy to pick out ones that have to be grammatically correct. Also, I don’t know how many US readers you have but we have the long Thanksgiving weekend coming up so I don’t know if people are traveling or what.
The prolonged US election affected my blog traffic significantly, which was interesting. I am going to a Thanksgiving party on Sunday – we have a friend from Pennsylvania.
There have been some more 20s, but you still have the fastest time btw.
16/20 :59 seconds left
Thanks for playing!
My pleasure!
Another pop-up this week but it didn’t affect my performance. However, one bad guess led me to a 19/20 score. That was a fun quiz.
20/20 with only 37 seconds left. Not as fast as Jim 🙁
Don’t Mess With Jim.
20/20 with 11 seconds left – but happy with the perfect score!
Great work!
19/20…I got careless…clicked too quick.
Guilty fingers ain’t got no rhythm?
19/20. Missed one on a 50/50. Don’t really know my Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, I guess.
I too am not well-versed in those two artists.
17/20. Mind you, I only actually knew about the half of them (the earliest ones) so the others I just guessed by what made sense.
Good educated guesses!
A pitiful 16.
I only scored 17, so it’s not THAT bad…
Ha. (Got another Nugget to re-visit today!)
Yup, no new one coming this weekend though – working on a top ten Steely Dan songs list instead.
Double Ha! Only 10?
I got 14, mainly because I didn’t know the newer songs.
I like it when quizzes test a broad scope though.
Oh for sure, if anything it just points out how I stopped caring about a lot of popular music a long time ago, and that’s on me.
19 – I thought the Kelly Clarkson song was called ‘Break away’ and when I didn’t see ‘Break’ as an option, I thought perhaps I misremembered the song and incorrectly guessed ‘Fly.’
When I looked it up afterwards, turns out, I was right about Breakaway, alas, she just released another ‘away’ song a couple years later!
I knew Fly Away – it was all over the radio when I was in my teens. Plus my sister had Lenny Kravitz’ Greatest Hits – she got mixed up between Ben Harper and Lenny Kravitz and bought it by mistake.
Not a bad CD for an accidental purchase!
