Music Quiz: Four Decades of Music Hits IV

Last week’s quiz featured the closest fought competition I’ve ever seen on this blog. There were a healthy number of 100% scores, and the top three all had very close times.

If my maths is correct, Heavy Metal Overlord and Bruce Vinyl both completed the challenge in 53 seconds, while Geoff 1001 was nipping at their heels with a time of 54 seconds.

This week’s challenge requires sorting music hits from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s into the correct decade. I found that it gets a little tricky when the hit is on the cusp of two decades.

I scored 23/24 – can you beat me and attain the perfect score?

  1. Not too good. 19/24. The note said, “You’re all about the average, aren’t you?” Hey, at least I’m not all about mediocre.

  2. 23/24 with 02:37 left. Sweet Home Alabama kept me from a perfect score.

  3. Whoopie for me…24/24 with 2:36 remaining. Nice work last week with all those perfect scores. Well done, fellas.

  4. 24/24
    02:28 Cool…finally

  5. 3:04 on the clock, but Bette Davis stuffed me up.

  6. 22 of 24.

  7. 23/24. Dang “lean on me”. I think I had 2:57 still on the clock.

  8. I’ve had a LOT of coffee today and this was a quickfire belter: 24/24 with 03:19 still to go. I slipped a moment or two on the AC/DC one and got lucky with my guess (all their songs are essentially the same anyway, right?)

  9. So close – 23! I put Janis in the incorrect decade
