Often this site and Sporcle quizzes in general, concentrate on the “canon” – albums that are critically acclaimed and have stood the test of time. These, however, are not always the highest sellers.
Can you link the artist to the album for 36 years of best selling albums?

I scored 32/36 – can you beat my score? I like how it includes artists who don’t usually get much Sporcle time (Jason Donovan, Susan Boyle).
*I’m on vacation so I’m publishing this in advance – I don’t have last week’s winners at the time of going to (word)press.

17/36. Worst ever I think. I never heard of half those albums and just guessed wildly and, I might add, rather poorly.
Yes, it’s British, and mainstream. I figured it would be a tough one.
Lots of albums I’ve never heard. Some deliberately so. Others I may like if I were to raid my daughter’s collection to listen to them.
Yes, a lot of it is outside my scope too. But nice to break it up a bit.
28 out of 36 for me. That was a little difficult as I wasn’t familiar with several of those acts.
Not a Susan Boyle fan?
I think I got hers right!
Was sailing along up to 22 – and then some guessing landed me 4 of the remaining 14!
Looks like guessing wasn’t as effective a strategy as usual.
I went ll the way through and then was just guessing on my second chances. 27/36.
Good score!
Stinker to start the year – 17 before time ran out – many of the artists not familiar with or not familiar with their album title names. Can only go up from here!
Yes, it’s a bit outside the site’s normal scope.
29/36. Should have been 30.
Looks like you’re winning so far – being European probably helps with it! Good work!
I’ll blame my being an American on my poor showing of 23/36 this week. Got all 23 that I knew for sure and then crapped out with all my guesses after that.
Yes, I think it will be easier for the British.
Same story as KMA and RK, and same score as Rich.
Maybe you need to listen to Jason Donovan some more. He’s from Australia, right?
I’ll put him on my list.
28 for me, which ain’t too bad… I’m also pleased to report I remembered Jason Donovan’s album. Ha!
Happy New Year to you; I hope you’re enjoying the vacation.
I was a tiny bit young for the Jason Donovan mania.
I think I was the right age when it hit the UK. It didn’t last, right enough…
… and for clarity, I was subjected to the mania, not actively engaged in it!
I remember enjoying Kylie’s I Should Be So Lucky as a youngster.
It’s a catchy tune, for sure.
28/36 – Most of my educated guesses worked out, but very few of my blind guesses.
Good effort – noone’s got higher than 29 yet.
I feel this one was made for me yet I still had one miss: 35
But you smashed everyone else. There’s another one for last Thursday – that’s from the previous week.
