Waiting for Your Love by Toto

Toto IV - Toto

Steve Porcaro and David Paich used a Polyfusion modular synthesizer to to create most of the FM timbres on Toto IV. Introducing Damius”, with a photo courtesy of the book Rock Keyboard.

Steve Porcaro with Damius

Porcaro adjusting Damius: “I don’t know about other keyboard players, but I have a bitch of a time making synthesizers stand repeated listening.”

‘Waiting For Your Love’ is a solid pop song from a solid pop album, driven by David Hungate’s bass groove. Toto IV probably didn’t deserve to win album of the year, but it’s tuneful and well played.

*Great B-sides will be back next week.
