Congratulations to everyone who scored 100% last week – Rich, Chris, J, Geoff, 2loud2old, and Tony.
This week’s quiz requires you to identify the 1980s music video by the still.

I scored 21/25, which was actually below the Sporcle average for the quiz, so I’m sure lots of people will beat me. Especially those who were watching MTV at the time – I was more into Sesame Street and The Smurfs during the 1980s….

I am so mad. I got a 24/25. That was my decade of music so I should have scored a perfect score!!
Only one wrong though – what did you miss?
I picked the white wedding pic rather than the cross burning for like a prayer.
I can see how you could mix those up.
19 for me… and a few guesses in there, too.
I had to guess quite a bit too.
25/25 for me with just under 3:00 to go. Although I didn’t have cable TV at home in the early 80s (hence no MTV), I made up for lost time when I was in college (’84-’88) and saw the majority of classic videos from that era…many many times. Clearly they are indelibly stamped on my brain.
Perfect score! I think I’ve probably seen about half of them, mostly by seeking them out on Youtube.
Your score was excellent considering you’ve only seen half of those videos. I’ve seen all of them multiple times, even if I wasn’t a fan of the song or artist. You watched them on YouTube while I watched them when TV was still called the “boob tube.” 😀
There are a few that are pretty obvious artist shots – Police, Bangles, Janet Jackson are all pretty recognisable from the featured picture.
23.
Fun memories from a bunch of those.
And a good score too.
24/25. I can’t believe I screwed up Walk this way!
That’s one of the few that I saw in the late 1990s when we got MTV. It’s pretty iconic.
23/25. I recognized most of them, a few were too unrecognizable (You Gotta Fight) for me to get. Interestingly I just heard that song on the radio the other day. “Your mom busted in and said, “What’s that noise?”
Aw, Mom, you’re just jealous it’s the Beastie Boys.” Love it.
It’s pretty remarkable how they grew from snotty young men into responsible citizens.
Can’t stay the angry (or snotty) young man forever.
Proud to share a score with James.
And I’m proud of both of you.
24/25. Higher than my usual score in these quizzes. Apparently the big 80s hits I know quite well. White Wedding was the one I got wrong. Couple of lucky guesses for Legs (is it the ZZ Top song?) and Hungry Like the Wolf.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure Legs is the ZZ Top song.
22 – which exceeded my expectations.
I’m hopeful there’s a 90s edition, I’ll ready for that one!
I had a search, but I couldn’t find a good one.
25/25 here. Had no idea for You Might Think but managed to skip that and save it until last
You joined Rich on full marks.
