The Police Greatest Hits

Weekly Music Quiz – Song by Two Word Hint

We had 3 competitors score 20/20 on last week’s quiz on naming an album from its first three songs – congratulations to frequent high scorers Geoff and Tony, and to new podium finisher (I think?) 2loud2oldmusic.

This week’s challenge requires to name a song from two distinctive words used in its lyrics – for example, for “alabaster, master”, the answer would be The Police’s ‘Wrapped Around Your Finger’.

I scored 18/20, although I struggled to recognise a relatively recent New Zealand hit (please don’t tell anyone or they might revoke my citizenship….).

  1. 20/20 with 59 seconds on the clock – the one that got me stuck was probably the “flames, higher”… I’m willing to be it’s an obvious one for others. I must’ve gone through a dozen others that contain those and was trying every possible spelling of “Burning Love” before it clicked

  2. Haha, I’ll take a spectacular tumble from the podium this week, a non-fridge-material 10/20!
As soon as the answers were revealed, I realized I should have got several of the others, perhaps I’ll blame insufficient coffee so far today!

  3. A lowly 12 this time. Like Geoff, when the answers were revealed I thought “of course!” with a few more. I haven’t had coffee this morning.
